Our Foster Carers

Kasper is a child-centred, not for profit independent fostering organisation, with around 40 to 50 families fostering in Kent, London and Essex.

Our foster carers are at the heart of our service. Together, we are a dedicated team of child care professionals responsible for ensuring that looked after children are protected, that they can recover from trauma and thrive and succeed in all aspects of life.

Highly motivated team

We have full-time foster families who specialise in permanent placements; highly skilled task centred carers who perform short term work with young parents, young people on remand and preparation for adoption; alongside respite carers who provide valuable support.

Our foster carers are highly motivated towards self improvement and learning development, ensuring that they are equipped with the skills and konwledge to respond to fostering challenges. They also work closely together, buddying up to support each other through both good and challenging times.

Our family ethos

As one of the very few not for profit fostering organisations left in England, we are incredibly proud of our child-centred ethos. We have the advantage of being long-established, while small enough to retain our core values and family feel.

We believe that all members of every fostering household are important. So we send all children, birth and fostered, cards and presents on special occasions. And we have a vibrant social network too, enabling staff, foster carers, children and young people to enjoy parties and days out together.

What our carers think about us

Here's what some of our foster carers say about the Kasper service:

"I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the fun day yesterday, E talked of nothing else all the way home, during dinner, her bath of bubbles and during her night-time cuddle and story. Oh and then again this morning!"

"You all made us so welcome and part of the group, I got to meet so many of you and the other carers, I am really looking forward to next week. I hope normality has returned to the office today, but rest assured it will be remembered for many weeks to come."

"Thank you so much for your time and I am sure hard work putting yesterday's conference together. It really was very informative. I am particularly interested in attachment styles so listening to Prof David Shemmings was a real treat. I look forward to future trainings."

"Well what can I say, after a roller coaster week of fears, tears and worries, we reached the end of the week dreading our first annual review. Then in your wisdom you send a wonderful, knowledgeable and all round lovely lady. I had baked to within an inch of the kitchen bursting, then she arrived."

"She quickly put us at ease in our own home! And that's saying something. Thank you! We both continue to feel honoured that we are part of the Kasper package and long may it continue."
